On Fourth of July Daddy, Grandpa Perkins, Uncle Matthew and Great Uncle Terry drilled many, many holes in your walls and made a mess blowing insulation in them! And then in the wee hours of the night while I was sleeping, Daddy patched all the holes and painted. See, you can’t even see them! All to keep you warm and cozy – the hidden beauty of this nursery. 😉

I made this mobile for you out of paper cranes from our wedding day, and some are even made from Grandma Lee Ann’s origami paper! Daddy loves to read to you from all of your books. Our prayer and hope was to see you, our little girl, as life is fragile even in the womb and many do not get that chance. Maybe that’s why I loved the idea of rainbows, rainbows, and rainbows! Because no matter what happened, there was always hope and always love, each life reflecting that no matter how small. Mommy handmade this rainbow weaving while sitting outside under the trees.

This dresser was mine when I was a baby. It’s drawers were warped and broken and handles coming off – Oh no!! But Great Uncle Terry and I spent many hours putting it back together with much sanding and glue – I was sweating in the garage doing so almost nine months pregnant with you – Haha! And some and the coolest new antique brass hardware to set it off and make it your own.

And how cute are those shelves!? A few thrifted mugs and frames and some more Mommy-made art put the final touches on. Your Uncle Matthew made the shelves and Daddy put up. I also made this bead garland for you with wood beads and pretty rose quartz beads!
And since then my prayer has been for you to be a little girl filled with wonder, who will grow into a woman following her wonderful Creator all of her days. I hope that as you grow your imagination would too. That your room would be a place where we have the most amazing playtimes and magical moments. That as we run through the woods and explore God’s beautiful world, you’d bring little pieces of it back inside to remind you of Him. I pray that this sweet love you have for me – without expectation or judgment – would be the love you carry for others each day of your life and that this wonder you bring will set the world ablaze with hope. You already do, sweet girl.
