A Wonder

Look around you…………………………… Amazing huh?

Just think of the intricate simplicity of the world around you.  My heart can do nothing but leap with joy and wonder and awe when I truly take a look around. It’s living, breathing, miraculous! The tree outside my window — this magnificent and tall, living, growing piece of wood that came from the tiniest little seed that somehow grew from the dark underground! Enduring seasons and time. And then it’s leaves –pick one off and look at it, now take a good close look… can you see the stem branching out into veins, the vibrant color it has, the individual cells each containing nuclei and mitochondria and vacuoles and chloroplasts! (Assistance of a microscope may be needed.) This is just one leaf, on one type of tree, in one place by my window, at one location in the world, during one point in time. My mind explodes at the thought of millions.

What kind of amazing creator could have made this — put so much care into this one piece of creation for me to see? A Creator of love. This is one of the trillions of  notes God gives us of his love. The world is a huge love note from God to you. A little post-it here and there saying, “Hey, I’m here, I am with you, you are mine, my most beloved.”

When he saw this, he was amazed at the sight. As he went over to look more closely, he heard the Lord’s voice…     

Acts 7:31

We are his most beloved. Though he created this world — the oceans and stars, sand and clouds, hands and feet…the magnificent list goes on and on — you and I are his most beloved, his children, the reason he gave us all this and gave us life — to see and share his love and glory.

I am a child awed by my Father. Seeing and knowing him more and more each day is my greatest joy. A joy given to me through his son, Jesus Christ. Christ came to this earth and died in COMPLETE JOY for me and you, with each of us on his mind, so that we could LIVE  in complete joy in Him.
And I must fight to remember this.

When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?
You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
you put everything under his feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the beasts of the field,
the birds of the air,
and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
